This was done in response to the alarmingly high level of Styrofoam and plastic trash found in the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers which are vital to the region’s environment and economy.

Precious Plastics is a Dutch-based non-profit that centers around an initiative to provide open source blueprints that can be used to create plastic recycling equipment.
